As the voice of hospitality, we know all too well of the devastation and impact that COVID-19 has inflicted on the entire hospitality industry and it is important that we continue campaigning for the right measures to support businesses through and after the crisis.
The Government have been focusing on offering support for venues, but now they need to focus on the wider sector, specifically supplier businesses. We understand how essential your businesses are to the functioning of the hospitality sector, they are critical to a successful restart and, will face severe hardship should government support be discontinued while the hospitality sector is still in the early stages of reopening. That is why we have formed the UKH Supplier Alliance.
The Supplier Alliance provides a voice for those businesses within the hospitality sector that have been hit just as hard as venues by the COVID-19 crisis. The group will push for Government support for suppliers in line with operators. This will ensure any ongoing measures in support of hospitality includes the entire business network.
Our CEO, Kate Nicholls, said “The Government has recognised the damage that pubs, restaurants, hotels, bars and nightclubs have suffered and have acted quickly and decisively to provide support and save jobs. There are many businesses integral to the hospitality sector, facing the same existential crisis and they need the Government’s support now”
To support the launch we are asking you, our supplier members, to complete our survey to understand the scale of the crisis facing your businesses and the urgent need for support. We will use the results to build and strengthen the case for Government support.
